Reflection at Dawn
$70.00 USD
I took this photo as I marched towards Capitol Hill with a group of protestors after the killing of George Floyd. Halfway through our journey a group of us sat to catch our breath at the Lincoln Reflecting Pool . We sat there surrounded by National Guards troops and Federal agents monitoring us. As I gazed at the water I began to reflect on this historic moment and how It was here that Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream" speech, delivered to a crowd of 250,000 people. I felt the spirit of my ancestors cheering me on. I took my camera out, I waited for the Black Hawk helicopter to fly pass over us to catch this perfect moment. 2020. Captured on 120mm film. Printed on Lustre photo paper. 12 x 8.
